Device Types and Useful Life

A capital plan needs two things per asset that the export doesn't have: what kind of device it is, and how long a device of that kind should last. Equiply keeps a reference list of device types with their useful lives. Use it to label the health system's whole inventory.

Task

For every asset in facilities A to E (one record is one asset):

  1. Pick its device type from Equiply's device type reference. The Description ID column is the health system's own label and a good starting point, but it isn't an Equiply type and it's often vague.
  2. Give its useful life in years. The health system runs the Extended replacement strategy, so use the type's extendedLifespan.

Identify each asset by its CEID. Add the Serial Number too; it's used when a CEID alone doesn't identify the asset.

Scoring

  • Device type (70%): per asset, full credit for the right type and half credit for a generic or more specific version of it.
  • Useful life (30%): per asset, right or wrong, and only counted when the type is right.

Assets you leave out count as wrong. Your process write-up is required and is read by the Equiply team. It doesn't change your score. Write it yourself, in your own words. You can use AI tools for the work, but the write-up should be yours: we want to hear how you think.
