Capital Projection
With a device type and useful life on every asset, the health system can finally see its replacement wave coming. Turn your Q4 labels into a ten-year capital plan.
Task
For each year from 2027 to 2036, list the assets due for replacement that year, by CEID.
An asset's replacement year is the year of its Manufactured Date plus its useful life from Q4. For example, a device manufactured on 2019-05-14 with a 10-year useful life is due in 2029.
- Assets with a replacement year before 2027 are already overdue. Leave them out of the plan.
- Assets due after 2036 are outside the horizon. Leave them out too.
- Assets with no
Manufactured Datecan't be placed. Leave them out, and say how many there were in your report.
Bonus: what will it cost?
Estimate what replacing each asset will cost, in dollars, as estimated_cost on each asset. The export has no prices, so you'll have to find or estimate them per device type or model. The health system plans in today's dollars (its configured inflation rate is 0%), so don't inflate prices. This part is optional and worth up to 50 bonus points on top of the challenge's 150.

Scoring
- Schedule (100%): F1 over (year, asset) pairs across the ten years. An asset placed in the wrong year counts as a miss in the right year and an extra in the wrong one.
- Bonus (up to 50 points): per asset, full credit when your estimate is within 15% of its replacement cost, falling to none at half or double it. Averaged over every priced asset due in the horizon; an asset you leave out, place in the wrong year or don't price scores zero.
Your report is required and is read by the Equiply team. It doesn't change your score. Write it yourself, in your own words. You can use AI tools for the work, but the write-up should be yours: we want to hear how you think.
